Speaking of, I find myself lacking in database theory know-how.  
I really found it so boring back in college, but it's essential now.

What are good courses that teach how to design tables and queries...
not things you can learn in the manuals like how to start your db engine. :)

Local Oracle training comes into mind, but how about those who don't need
or want Oracle?  How do local CS departments teach db theory, nowadays?
