you need to give more information than that. after you log in, what
does the "route" command say.
do you have a LAN? can you ping and connect to services
inside your LAN? are you on dialup? if yes, if you dialup to
some other ISP (perhaps some prepaid service), can you connect
to external sites? if you connect to the ISP (both your main ISP and
perhaps the prepaid ISP, if that doesn't work in Linux) in windows,
can you connect to external sites? are you using a hardware router
that you might need to configure?
can you ping any server at the ISP? (start with their dialup server or
any server just on the other side of their dialup server from you).
can you ping any server outside your ISP? (www.yahoo.com).
can you surf to your ISP's web server?
can you surf to any web server outside your ISP? (i guess not, but
try www.yahoo.com).
what services don't work? all services? or just http? is your ISP
having bandwidth problems? do you have a firewall? is your
firewall configured correctly? for example, i have iptables, but i often
change my IP numbers for my eth0 and various aliases because
i need to get on the LAN at wherever i happen to be consulting.
everytime i change IPs, i need to change my firewall rules a bit
(just one or two lines) to allow packets out on the new IP numbers.
do you have anything like that maybe?
