i don't think it's flexibility that's the selling point.  in fact, it's
precisely the problem.  HTML and web forms just isn't flexible
enough.  but, i agree, in certain situations, where there is
no need for flexibility but there might be need for cross-platform
use, web browsers are good (e.g., if you need to allow users
to query the database from Pocket PC, Zaurus, Tablet, laptop,
desktop), then a web based application with browser identification
and dynamic selection of style sheets and templates can make 
for developing a single code base which gets displayed according 
to the different style sheets.  no need to develop N different client
applications, one for each platform and display size.
