Anyway, UP faculty salary starts at a little less than 15K. Yes, it is that low. Chances are your parents may not be happy if you end up teaching in UP, specially if they have invested a lot on you to get education from the expensive schools of the country. A friend of mine decided to go to Ateneo (and his brother to DLSU) because of their parents investment in educational plans - even if they wanted to go to UP - sayang naman daw. [in part, I agree].
