First things first.... The only reason I posted this question (about migrating to BSD) in PLUG is because our company is using Linux (Debian & Slackware distros) and with a remote but existing possibility of SCO winning against IBM, Novel, etc. I would like to find ways to be able to make our system down time in such an event, as short as possible....
i don't about that, but i kinda excited with the combo IBM > Novell (claims the same rights) > SuSe (gnu/linux distro).
changing your kernel immediately will not protect your company from lawsuits since you've already used the kernel for production.
SCO will definitely have to consider the size of the company to sue before making any moves. it will start with Fortune 500, then with 1st, 2nd, 3rd (i dunno) world-based companies.
SCO have to establish their legal arm in the phils., before making any raids ala BSA.
SCO would simply threathen the smaller companies to buy licenses because it's better that way than spending money on filing lawsuits for each one of them.
