I just found out that SD cards (or at least my SanDisk) is waterproof.
It survived a soaking in my laundered pants. :)

I now have a Tekram TR-621S USB hard disk case, for my old 20 GB Fujitsu
HD... fat chance of that surviving a dunk. :)  

To make that on-topic for PLUG... it works fine as a USB Mass Storage device.
But, how do you "Safely Remove Hardware" (as in Windows) in Linux?
If you just unmount and disconnect the device, the kernel spews I/O errors.
