It doesn't matter what you have, you should be using bf24.  After you
get it installed, go get a kernel compiled for your architecture.  Do
# apt-cache search kernel-image | grep smp
or find it in aptitude.  You can also grab the source "kernel-source" if
you want the Debian official.

I would recommend that you get the source and learn how to compile.
