That's not a hang, that's PEBKAC (problem exists between keyboard and 
chair). I've actually seen this problem! now that you mention it, on some 
public Linux terminals we set up at Linux '99.

The idiot end users double-click on the icons to launch something. But 
"nothing happens" so they double-click again.. and again.. and again. You 
end up with around 20 stacked Mozilla windows and tremendous amounts of 
disk thrashing because the machine's physical RAM is exhausted.
