Can anyone recommend a good HOW-TO for setting up an email server on Linux. I've
checked www.tldp.org and did quite a bit of googling around, but so far I hven't found
a good general explanation of the steps involved. What I found were some docs on how
to set upo and configure some SPECIFIC programs such as qmail, and even these were
lacking in-depth explanations of what was being done.

One question: are the following the correct general steps for setting up a POP3 server?

1. Place correct MX record in the DNS
2. Install and configure MTA (e.g. Postifx)
3. Install and configure POP server (e.g. Courier IMAP/POP3)
4. Run the servers (e.g. Posfix, Courier IMAP/POP3)
5. Configure the email client (e.g. Pine, Evolution, etc.)

God bless and thanks.
