Hi all , I just want to ask maybe a simple question to all of you. How large can Linux support ? Can i create a partition as large as 2 to 3 terabyte on my redhat AS 3 and it is connected to a SAN (EMC cx300) via fiber. Another thing is that it will be access by oracle.
Can LVM help me with this or it is not advisable since holding a really large data could results performance for the linux kernel.? I am thinking like chunking the terabytes into smaller pieces then do a LVM. I also want to present a whole chunk of 3 Tb to Oracle DB. I mean mounting it in one partition. Is there any other alternatives you can suggest.|? Please. i will patiently wait for your replies.thanks in advance.. ----------------------------------------- "How do you power off this machine?" --Linus Torvalds, when upgrading linux.cs.helsinki.fi, and after using the machine for several months -- ______________________________________________ Check out the latest SMS services @ http://www.linuxmail.org This allows you to send and receive SMS through your mailbox.
