some days ago our squid started refusing connections. restarting it
didn't fix it. rebooting the server didn't fix it.

the behavior was that after a restart, it would work for the first
client access. then the next connections to squid would return
"connection refused". i use "telnet proxyserverIP 3128" to test it.

doing a "tail -s0 -f cache.log" shows that squid starts and has a new
PID every few seconds. i think it dies and/or respawns after serving
one request, then waits a few seconds and serves another request.

i used the default squid.conf and ganun parin.

i downloaded and compiled a 2.5-stable7 and run it with the same
configs and ganun parin.

run squid -z; squid; ganun parin

ang natitira nalang an yung cache directory na 10gigs, sayang naman
kung i-didelete ko yun.

anyway anyone has a clue on what's happening?
