Hi Guys,

Actually this is a similar situation back 2003 when I first started
out my campus-backbone-network project.

After researching and hours of talking to some of my friends, it
yielded me 3 options

1. Wireless
2. Fiber
3. CAT5

Wireless
Wow high tech! This was my first choice pero di naging maganda ung
feedback sa akin ng speed, signal strenght, obstacles tapos meron pang
antenna issue. Pero sa cost okay very affordable. Costing : Php 20k

Fiber
Speed demon, pero cost is for corporate type na. Costing : Php 600k.

CAT5
Very practical. PVC pipes and fittings. Konting help lang sa mga
construction boy and alaktrisyan pwede na. Costing : Php 10k

The clear choice in the end CAT5.
Here's what we did. Farthest point is 500m from the main switch so we
used 5 8port switch scattered sa mga key areas every 90m. BTW these
key areas acts as branches na rin for the offices (damay na sila sa
network). AND I've doubled the ethenet cable para merong redundant
line just in case magkaroon ng problem (so far okay ung main line pa
rin ang gamit). Part of the pipes ay nakalubog sa ilalim ng lupa, some
are just on the side ng building. AND we made special boxes, water
proof for the switches.

If you need help or meron kang alinlangan sa CAT5 just post it here.

GO! GO! GO!
