If you really want best laptop that kick ass and hard
knocks go for IBM R40 up series w/c is So cheao and if
you think you can afford the go for T Series. This
Series are great and Running on a linux OS is a great
idea. 

And for WiFi wise it's best mobility usage....

The ASUS L5000D has a Mobile Athlon64, although it
doesn't come with a
good price tag. And like the Acer Ferrari 3000 it uses
a Broadcom 4306
for wifi (what a waste :)

if it were just
affordable and accessible to personal sales:
