I'm trying Rich's recommendation. I have two terminal windows open. CPAN
is running in one. I run clamtk in the other. Each time I run it I get
another requirement for another Pearl module, so I install it in CPAN and
try running clamtk again. I figure since it's a different "new"
requirement, I'll just keep working through them until it either it or I
get exhausted.

Dick,

If you want to fully experience requirements hell, try installing pandoc.
This is an application that transforms documents from one format to another
format <https://pandoc.org/>. As the index page notes, "If you need to
convert files from one markup format into another, pandoc is your swiss-army
knife. Pandoc can convert documents in (several dialects of) Markdown,
reStructuredText, textile, HTML, DocBook, LaTeX, MediaWiki markup, TWiki
markup, TikiWiki markup, Creole 1.0, Vimwiki markup, roff man, OPML, Emacs
Org-Mode, Emacs Muse, txt2tags, Microsoft Word docx, LibreOffice ODT, EPUB,
or Haddock markup to ..."

Cool, eh? But, it's written in Haskell. After building/installing about 18
or so Haskell modules from Slackbuilds.org I gave up, removed all those
packages, and went on with my life. Installing many packages for a language
used for only a single application here was not worth the effort.
