I didn't realize that audacity could read the audio cdrom and write an .mp3
file. I'll use that.

For burning the audio to a CD-RW, have you searched for Slackware CD burning tools?

I've used xcdroast for a very long time -- for software distributions and
similar files. Didn't know it would also write audio files.
