wes, I wondered about that but didn't try cutting-and-pasting. In the past Calc would remove double quotes in text columns (using " on my keyboard) and I assumed it would do single quotes the same way. Regardless, it turns out the exported data was not as expected so this has become a non-issue ... for now. :-) Thanks, Rich
