Dick,
What does /etc/resolv.conf say on all hosts? It's the DNS resolver.
See the
man page, resolv.conf(5).
ENU-2 says:
nameserver 127.0.0.53
options edns0 trust-ad
search lan
ENU-1 says:
nameserver 127.0.0.53
options edns0 trust-ad
That command recommended looking at /etc/resolv.conf. The first set of
lines are the same for each. However, the next section, Link 2
(enp0s31f6) has different entries.
On ENU-2 I have:
Current Scopes: DNS
DefaultRoute setting: yes
LLMNR setting: yes
MulticastDNS setting: no
DNSOverTLS setting: no
DNSSEC setting: no
DNSSEC supported: no
Current DNS Server: 192.168.0.1
DNS Servers: 192.168.0.1
DNS Domain: ~.
lan
On ENU-1 I have:
Current Scopes: none
DefaultRoute setting: no
LLMNR setting: yes
MulticastDNS setting: no
DNSOverTLS setting: no
DNSSEC setting: no
DNSSEC supported: no
This suggests, I think, that I'm missing a DNS server.
Searching with DDG for details gives me answers that expect certain
files to exist, which don't on either machine. Still digging.
