I bought a refurbished ThinkPad T430 which has windows10 installed. Before I repartition the HDD I want to confirm that, because UEFI is in firmware on the motherboard I can wipe the disk, repartition it, then install Slackware64-15.0.
The HDD now has four partitions: sda1 is windoze recovery, sda2 is EFI system, sda3 is MS reserved, and sda4 is MS basic data. My only (U)EFI experience is the desktop which had a new SSD installed. It has three partitions: sda1 holds /boot/efi, sda2 holds swap, and sda3 holds /. I plan to wipe the existing four partitions on the T430 and repartition with partitions for /boot/efi, swap, /, and /home. Is there anything wrong with my approach (no comments about which distro to install, please). Rich
