[PLUG] Getting preferred browser to work in Xubuntu 20.04

I started using Brave as my browser in Xubuntu 20.04. Most of the time 
it just works. However, when I click on  a link in an email, it opens in 
Firefox. I went to the Preferred Applications control and it shows Brave 
as the preferred web browser. Is there another place to change the 
preference?
