I am a dns expert, and a cname is not always the most ideal solution. there
are several caveats that are easy to fall into if you're not careful. less
so with an A record. I remember struggling with learning how cnames work 20
years ago. we can skip all of that by just holding off until it's needed.
in this case, there are only 3 A records involved so for now it's simpler
to stick with them.
