I believe the current version of Ubuntu enables Wayland while Ubuntu 20 does not, it is possible the latest Zoom is expecting Wayland to be enabled the older one uses xorg?
There's a ton of compatibility layers where xorg and wayland apps can run on each others managers, in theory that is. Can you back-rev?
