osCommerce is the easiest I have seen to use for a storefront (open source PHP with MySQL backend):
http://www.oscommerce.org/
- fully scripted setup (for db too)
- admin section
- customer management and tracking
- shopping cart
- free extra modules (paypal, currency conversion etc.)
- easy to customize (uses css)
- multilingual

if you need a corporate web portal (for comany and employees only) the best I have seen is PHProjekt (open source PHP with MySQL backend also):
http://www.phprojekt.com/
- calendar
- document sharing
- administration
- time cards
- tech support
- multilingual

What are some of the better e commerce solutions that are open source out there? Are there some that can easily be hooked into xoops or mambo for example?

Thanks
Stephen
