Prove it hasn't come up with every good idea already. Admittedly the 
probability of some property of the sun being able to foster awareness 
is statistically impossible by a textbook definition of life. However if 
you let go of the definition then the sheer number of suns would dictate 
that at least a class of them, possibly including ours, can be sentient, 
besides who really knows what a rock thinks?
