Someone was asking me today if there were any open source projects that were compatible with Exchange/Outlook (not outlook.com). I had to admit I wasn't aware of any off my head, but was sure there were some. Does anyone know of one or more? To maintain maximum compatibility, the programs should support not only email and news/nntp (client only on that part, I'm sure), but should also support scheduling/appointments ala outlook on an exchange server, and it would be nice if I could tell this guy that it even supports looking at someone's calendar like outlook does.
I'm well open to suggestions on this one since I don't know of anything that would work off my head. Multiple programs are okay as long as they can be linked together so that opening an email that is an appointment request would trigger the appointment program automatically, and so forth. The goal is to make a near-outlook experience that is as seamless as possible.
