Unless things have changed, the problem with mesh networks is that since they share the same channel, you end up losing half your bandwidth for each AP you add to the mesh. At least that's the way it was when I last used a mesh setup with 802.11b quite a few years ago. Maybe there are better techniques now. In any event, I've never had good luck with that sort of thing. I have way better luck running a wire and sticking up an AP.
