I used the very first patch you posted until 3 days ago and never had
any garbled audio. I switched to this new patch and garbled audio has
now returned. It only happens at peak times - i.e. Radio 4 between 7-8am
and it takes longer to go wrong than unpatched mplayer. But this latest
patch seems to be less robust than the first one.
