Quoting danco <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Maybe I wasn't clear.
Yes, of course I understand that the plugin has to be (and is)
activated. My point was that, for my situation, I don't want to move to
"Run script on Stop" or whatever to choose a script (which I would
guess, perhaps wrongly, would have that script running every time the
SB was stopped, until I set the script back to 'none'). I would like a
"Run script now" option.
Are you using scripts on other events and still want a run now?
if you don't want any event-based triggers, just leave the plugin
"de-activated"
and any script you choose is simply a run-now when you press play. As for
extending menu items, I'll keep it in mind, but I haven't any plans
curently to
go back and edit the plugins. I'm usually buried in server code now,
so time is
rather limited.
As to 2, I suppose the same holds for sleep (I do *not* want the
computer shut down. It wasn't entirely clear to me that the "SB is
effectively as idle as it can be". There could easily be a difference
in power used between switching the SB to standby and having it
switched on but with the server not running - for instance, the SB
might keep on trying to connect.
The SB will try to connect initially, and will periodically check (but
not much
else). The bulk of the power use is in the driving of the display, which is
off. When you press the power button, then SB will wake up and send a
broadcast Wake On Lan packet to try to wake the server computer up.
Turning the
SB off makes no difference in this function, as the 'off' state is
really just a
display mode and is still controlled from the server side. Without the server,
the SB is sitting in standby.
my apologies if this is causing you some stress.
