Could you double check that you are using the latest version (MPlayer dev-CVS-051107-16:13-3.4.2). If you are, could you try running mplayer from the command line and see if you get the same results: mplayer -vc null -vo null -cache 128 -af volume=4:sc,resample=44100:0:1 -playlist http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.rpm
