While that would be great in principal, it would require my parents having to remount the filesystem as read-write whenever they wanted to add any new tracks and remember to remount as read-only when finished - I'm going to have a tough enough job training them to use the Squeezebox/3 without having to train them on ssh, mount and various other Unix commands! :) My current plan is for them to rip and tag on a more powerful laptop then copy the tracks over to the SlimServer PC using FileZilla (on a PC) and betaftpd on the SlimServer PC - ie. double click the FileZilla icon on their desktop, click on "Connect" and then drag & drop (hopefully!) followed by a rescan. Do you know if it is possible to have betaftpd mount the filesystem read-write when a user connects, then have it remount read-only when the user disconnects? Failing that, even though the filesystem might [EMAIL PROTECTED] out eventually if they pull the plug on the PC too often, I'll have to rely on the ext3 journalling! -- Milhouse ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Milhouse's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18942 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
