Neil, I think some data is being received from the BBC by Mplayer because Mplayer has found the mime header below:
Stream description: audio/x-pn-multirate-realaudio logical stream Stream mimetype: audio/x-pn-realaudio Stream description: Audio Stream Stream mimetype: audio/x-pn-multirate-realaudio-live I'm not sure what Mplayer msg-level setting is needed to determine if Mplayer has processed audio and sent it to socketwrapper.
