I think 10.3 requires the older version of the Mplayer you have installed but with the coded. If you don't want to upgrade, I think I can find instruction on where to find the codec and how to install.
I'm curious to find out that since you followed the installation instructions, how come you managed to install the wrong version of Mplayer.
