KDF had some sort of fade built into his advanced alarm plugin. If you look at the code I believe it still exists. I have been able to get fading in on alarm trigger working great but have not tried it on sleep as I believe that would require modding the core code. A sleep plugin should work ok though. It really should be simple thing to code something like this.
