D'oh! Thanks aubuti, that was certainly not too vague: it was just enough to prod my flakey memory. I had actually used the CVS version a while ago, but had completely forgotten about it and was back to looking at the main release version. So, I've got the latest version and order is restored to the universe. Thanks again!
