my experience:- quad core i5 (all 4 cores shown in resource meters) just playing with bbc radio 2 right now, and ran for 4 mins, no rebuffer, better than normal. then rebuffered, caught the network taskmanager. there was about a 20 sec delay before it came back, around the point you can see the big peak on network traffic (probably no surprise here) 21443
with earlier version had similar issues, I think it is a bit better with new beta version.
