Why does the Spotify app only work with a Premium account? I've signed up for a Spotify trial to make it all work, but I'm hoping that when it ends I'll still be able to use the free service. If not, is there any way to overcome this limitation?
No. It's part of Spotify's deal: if you want playback on a device, you have to pay the premium offer.
