So let me now ask a really crazy questions. It seems that Ogg Vorbis
(lossy) compression can or cannot contain FLAC or PCM (lossless) music.
If that's the case AND Spotify uses Ogg Vorbis in a way that FLAC and
PCM information is 'contained', then when you un-compress the Spotify
Ogg Vorbis steam to FLAC or PCM are you really providing better sound
quality than Spotify itself? Is this some kind of back door way to
finally get higher quality streams from Spotify?

No worries: we're getting the same Ogg Vorbis data as the other Spotify clients. But the helper I'm using does not forward that data to the plugin, but converts it back to PCM. That PCM data, while "lossless" as a format, contains the same loss as the Ogg stream, just blown up to full CD resolution 1411kbps bitrate again. That's something which happens with all formats, as the DAC can't handle Ogg or MP3 or whatever. It only processes raw PCM data.
