After further checking, i have to report that sooner or later the switching to mp3 always happen...
Btw, regarding the plugin config, i don't understand the need for setting the streaming quality (mp3, cd or hi-res) at a plugin level, since it is something that the owner of the subscription chooses at its account level. No need to modify this at plugin level.
