Note - i backed out the _SL300 hack in the most recent version.
As for why things get cached or not ... LMS does it by magic as far as I am concerned. Maybe your player fails to download fast enough and it gives up - but LMS cached it anyway ... so next time that track played (if it was not too long afterwards) then LMS provided the image from its cache instead and did it faster.
