Same for me, I gave up a few years ago on trying to bring tons of music with me. Now I use an iPhone or iPad, with some music downloaded to the phone itself (but typically only something special), and mostly use Spotify or internet radio for music source. And if in a bad internet area, I just select the albums I want from Spotify in advance so they are downloaded on the phone. Then I simply play all this through a small JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth portable speaker (that sounds quite good....can fill a large living room with sound!).
