Latest (and possibly final) set of screen shots. This time the scenario
was to carry out a clear all and rescan in both instances, with 84 large
and default playlists filtered out from iTunes import, and Full Text
search plugin re-enabled to build the full text index as part of the
scan. Interesting set of results...

*LMS 7.9 (on Synology DS218+ Package Centre)* - down to 34:45:
34832

LMS 81. (in Synology DS218+ Docker Container) - now down to 35:49 in
Docker:
34831
Looks like excluding those superfluous, large playlists definitely
quickened things up for building the full text search. Guess the
database had just got to critical mass!

On balance though, I think I'll turn the Full Text search index off from
now on, just to save the extra minutes in both my rescan types - and I'm
perfectly happy with LMS's default search options.

Thanks for all the assistance guys - now just need to restore some of
those Home menu items and my Docker 8.1 LMS is ready to roll when the
Package Centre version finally becomes unavailable!

Cheers

Andy
