I'd not tweaked the transcoding options and disabling Ogg had an interesting effect. Tracks now seem to be playing. Before if I played a single track it would stop after 4 seconds (albums would appear to play but muted), now playing a single track appears to play but muted.
This is getting odd... can you try all kinds of transcoding (disabling all spt -> ? but one)?
