Ok, I think I'm able to reproduce this now with a more recent build of librespot code than what the spotty helper v1.0.1 is using. With that more recent build I'd clearly hear a difference, and a decibel meter app on the phone does confirm that v1.0.1 does not apply normalization, while the new build would. Normalisation would NOT apply to Ogg direct streaming. In that case we don't have the normalisation information available. I'm probably going to disable direct streaming in case normalisation was being enabled. Oh my... too many options.

Would you be able to drop a spotty-custom in your file path on both your systems to confirm the change in behaviour? Please note that this helper would be rather rough and hardly tested. But it would allow us to understand whether we were on the right way.

BTW: there's an odd drop in volume of about 10dB in that song after a few seconds. At first I thought it was a problem with spotty again, but playing in Spotify directly showed the same.
