A day or two before receiving the block I had rebooted twice & updated a couple of plugins. Just guessing, but maybe this triggered too many automatic scans in too short a space of time?
Whatever you triggered, I'd be surprised if it was more "painful" to them than what the thousands of Spotty users using my client ID are throwing at them every single second...
