It's possible to change the default sorting of most Custom Browse menus in "SqueezeCenter Settings/Advanced/Plugins/Custom Browse/Manage menus", the default for the "Albums" menu is to sort album by title and the default for the "Artists/Albums" menu is to sort by year.
