The random skipping is most likely not random, it's associated with the libflac errors.
Squeezeslave tries to recover by moving on to the next block to decode in the stream. I use the official libFLAC.dll from flac-1.2.1-devel-win.zip released by Josh. Something else is going on in Vista. I don't have Vista to test with only WinXP.
