What kind of security options does this app support? SqueezeCenter
username/password logins? SqueezeCenter over https? SSH tunneling?
IPSEC? Port knocking?

It's generally considered pretty risky to make SqueezeCenter server
accessible over the Internet. There's a page on the wiki that covers
some options for making it safer (
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/ConnectingRemotely ) -- I'm
wondering which of those your app supports out-of-the box.

It looks like one option might be using a different app like Port Knock
Light (http://www.dannysung.com/main/?q=node/25) to get your server to
open access. Best would be something like Michael Rash's fwknop daemon
using single packet authorization. SqueezeCenter over https would be
cool, but I don't know what that'd do to your iThing battery life, or
the rumored 3GS hot potato troubles.
