Well, good news, last night I clicked on the SoftSqueeze 3.9b1 app icon in the dock and lo! it downloaded the file from the website. Double clicked the downloaded app and it works fine.
Now I've done nothing to the Mac since my last posting so either it is magic or maybe bpa has been moving in mysterious ways in background. Whatever the reason, I'm a happy chap.
