It was my misunderstanding. Sure enough, the label shows up and the command can be executed, when I use my player and select SvrPowerCtl from the Extras menu. I haven't tried the others, but I'm sure they are ok.
But I was expecting something more that does not seem to occur, and that would be useful. When I go to the Settings page for SvrPowerCtl then in a number of places (Idle Player Monitor, End of Day, and others) there is a pop-up list of actions that can be chosen.
