Firstly thankyou for your time answering the posts it is appreciated. The lirc file is for a Denon RC-1075 I looked at few denons and whilst I realise it isn't scientific the values for volume and on off all seemd the same. If I can get my head round the programming then I can always experiment or research deeper for the correct one.
Correct - I want to control the Amplifier volume not the Receivers. The Amp power does have separate on and off codes (I leave the amp in standby) so your suggestion of play for on and pause for off sounds fine. The Duet receiver is on Aux2 but I don't think that will be an issue as it is 'soft switched' and remembers the input even if unplugged.
