This doesn't include the extra player.streaming.direct information, but seems to confirm that the player is asked to connect to the helper app and then 10 seconds later it gives up and sends back an error. I suspect this is because a firewall is blocking players connecting to spotifyd. It could also be that there is another application using port 9001, but this is unlikely if you can browse playlists ok.
